Within Limbo

Mezzotint ? Mezzotint is an intaglio technique that is very similar to aquatint. Artists create half-tones without using lines or dots. In process of light-to-dark-to-light, the artist uses a mezzotint rocker to densely cover the entire surface of the copper plate with patterns made of dots. Ready “rocked” plate will carry the ink on its surface. In order to enable half-tones on the plate, the artist has to use special burnishing tools. – state XIII
