Relief print
Relief printing is a family of techniques including woodcut, linocut, and plaster print. The artist carves into wood or another hard material, leaving raised areas to carry ink while recessed areas remain unprinted.
Linocut
Linocut is a relief print technique where designs are carved into linoleum using gouges or engraving tools. The cut-away sections do not print, leaving the image in reverse. Linocut is also called “lino print” or “lino printing.”
