Plaster print ? Plaster print is a relief printing technique in printmaking. In this process, artists use sharp tools (gouges or needles) to carve an image into the surface of a block of plaster. The incised parts of the surface are non-printing areas which means that the drawing is in negative. *Before printing, plaster plate has to be hardened with a special glue. Woodcut ? Woodcut is a relief print technique. In that process, artists use sharp specialistic tools (gouges or engraving tools) to carve the image into a block surface made of wood. The incised parts of the surface are non-printing areas which means that the drawing is negative. There are variations of the woodcut technique like chiaroscuro woodcuts, reductive woodcuts, or Japanese watercolor woodcuts in which the used type of wood differs.
