Landscape I
Etching ? The etching is an intaglio (incised) technique. In that process, artists use special protective varnish based on beeswax to cover the metal surface (copper/zinc plate). Next, the artist creates a drawing with sharp tools (needles). Finally, the metal plate is covered by strong acid (nitric acid) in order to dissolve the unprotected parts of its surface. – state IX / ea III
