Etching: Graphite

Etching is an intaglio printmaking technique. A copper or zinc plate is coated with a beeswax varnish, then scratched with sharp needles to reveal the metal. The exposed areas are bitten into with acid, creating grooves that hold ink.

Drawing: Graphite

Drawing is a fine art technique that uses materials like pencil, charcoal, ink, or markers to create images on flat or three-dimensional surfaces. Unlike painting, drawing emphasizes form and tone, though colour can be added for emphasis.
